Ruth Shayman, age 89

Ruth Shayman was born in Chicago on December 8, 1935, to Samuel and Fay, and passed away on October 21, 2025. She is survived by her eldest son, Steven (Gayle); her devoted daughter, Julie (Chris) Tag; and her daughter-in-law, Justine. Ruth was the proud grandmother of six beautiful grandchildren who brought her so much joy. She was preceded in death by her adored son, William (“Billy”), and her loving companion, Seymour J. Abrams. Ruth was a special combination of strength, beauty, humor and empathy. With her quick one-liners and fun-loving spirit, she had a unique gift for putting everyone around her at ease. She will be forever missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Funeral Service Thursday, October 23, at 9:30AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Boulevard, Skokie.
