Ryan Michael Wise

Ryan Wise, age 37, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on December 31, 2025, in Grand Rapids.

Ryan was known for his quick wit, playful personality, and the ease he brought into any room. He had a natural way of making people feel comfortable and welcome, often through humor, laughter, and a presence that simply made life better for those around him.

Ryan loved the outdoors and the friendships that came with it. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends—activities that were less about the pursuit and more about connection and shared laughs. Those who spent time with him know that they will continue to feel his presence in those moments, often with a smile when things don’t go exactly as planned.

He was deeply devoted to his wife, Nikki, and cherished the life they built together. Ryan was also a proud dog dad to Kosmo and Lido.

Ryan was an “uncle” to many children and a godfather to Sawyer and Dawson Hooper—roles he embraced with immense pride and joy.

He is survived by his wife, Nikki; his parents, Dawn and Bob Wise; his sister, Rachel; his sister-in-law, Tani, his in-laws, Randy and Lynne; and a wide circle of friends and loved ones who will miss him deeply.

Ryan’s life, though far too short, leaves behind lasting laughter, loyalty, and love. His memory will live on in shared moments, familiar jokes, and the unmistakable mark he left on everyone who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
