Sami Hanna Daiza

In loving memory of Sami H. Daiza, who passed away on February 25, 2026, we celebrate his life and legacy. Born on July 3, 1948, Sami lived life with humor, heart, and an infectious spirit that made every gathering a joyous occasion.

Unlike many who adhered strictly to tradition, Sami possessed a unique ability to bring laughter and warmth wherever he went. His presence was a beacon of joy, and he had a knack for making people feel welcome and at ease.

Sami’s dedication to his country was evident in his proud service in the United States Army. He was also a beloved member of the Chandler community. For an impressive 47 years, he owned and operated the Wingfoot Market/ Shopping Plaza, where he became affectionately known as “Mr. Wingfoot.” Through his work there, he cultivated enduring relationships, served countless generations of customers, and consistently demonstrated his willingness to lend a helping hand and give back to the community he cherished.

In his personal life, Sami found immense joy in the simple pleasures. He relished playing poker, going to the beach and spending quality time with his friends and family. Whether gathered around a card table or sharing stories, Sami cherished the moments spent with those he held dear.

Sami, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, is survived by his wife, Sammi; their daughter, Teresa Galvan; their son, Derek Daiza; and their daughter-in-law, Nicole Daiza. He was also a proud grandfather to Justin, Elijah, and Aurie, who brought him immense joy.

Sami is also survived by his mother, Salima Daiza; his sisters, Silvia (George Mihilli), Sahwa (Ghatfan Ghazal), and Stella; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Sami will be remembered for his laughter, generosity, and the way he brought people together. His stories, humor, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
