Samuel Clark Frailey, 76, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, with his wife and son by his side. Born on March 9, 1949, in Cushing, Oklahoma, Sam lived a life marked by love for his family, dedication to his faith, and service to others.
Sam graduated from Olive High School in 1967. He earned a bachelor's degree in safety education from Central State University in 1973 and later completed a master's degree in industrial safety from Northeastern State University. His academic achievements reflected his commitment to learning and professional growth. He worked for Martin Marietta and Williams Pipeline before working for Mine Safety Appliances for 20 years. He retired from AirGas in 2014.
From 1970 to 1977, Sam proudly served his country as a member of the Oklahoma Air National Guard. His years of service exemplified his sense of duty and patriotism.
Sam was a devoted husband to Sheryl and a loving father to their son Clark and daughter-in-law Wendy. His grandsons, Stephen and Sam, were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether fishing with his son and grandsons or simply enjoying their company, Sam found immense joy in being surrounded by those he loved most. He also shared a close bond with his siblings Ernestine, Charlotte and Don.
A man of deep faith, Sam lived out his Christian values daily through acts of kindness and generosity. He was an active member of Coffee Creek Church, where he greeted everyone with a warm smile and handshake as they entered the doors. His welcoming spirit left a lasting impression on all who met him. Beyond the church walls, Sam extended his compassion to the broader community by serving with Feed His Sheep, an organization dedicated to feeding the homeless population of Oklahoma City.
Sam’s love for fishing was well-known among family and friends. An avid trout fisherman, he found peace and fulfillment in the outdoors—a passion he eagerly shared with those closest to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Evert and Betty Frailey and his sister Ernestine. Though their loss was deeply felt during his lifetime, Sam carried their memory forward through the love he gave to others.
Samuel Clark Frailey will be remembered as a kind-hearted man whose life was defined by faith, family, and service. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 11, 2026, at 02:00 PM at Coffee Creek Church 1650 Coffee Creek Road/NW 220th in Edmond, Oklahoma.
