Sandra Rose Brooks (McCandless) passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, in Clifton Springs, New York, at age 62 after a year long cancer battle with glioblastoma. Her optimism, strength, and weird sense of humor brought joy to the people around her. She will be terribly missed but always loved.
Sandy was born February 22, 1963, in San Jose, California and lived most of her life near California's central coast region. She attended Monte Vista Christian School, graduating in 1981.
She worked for many years as a secretary at Green Valley Christian School in Watsonville before moving to Paso Robles where she then got a job at Flamson Middle School. She later moved to McMinnville, Oregon, and worked at the local high school.
Sandy loved being active and enjoyed gardening and karate, achieving brown belt status at age 55.
Sandy is survived by her son Joshua Brooks and his wife, Christina, her son Cory Brooks and his wife, Jody and their two children, Jasper and Alistair Brooks, her daughter Holly Brooks and her fiancee, Josh Taverneti, her brother Andrew McCandless and his wife, Keitha, her sister Cindy Pieramico and her husband, Steve, her brother Tim McCandless and his wife, Robin, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations to the House of John in Clifton Springs, New York, are requested.
