Sandra "Sandee" (Johnson) Draves, of Buffalo, Minnesota, formerly of St. Anthony Village, passed away peacefully at 83 years old on February 22, 2026, at Havenwood of Buffalo. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Havenwood of Buffalo and Moments Hospice for their compassionate care.
Born November 22, 1942 in Crosby, Minnesota, to Luella and Harold "Pat" Johnson, Sandee built a life centered on family, friendship, and the moments that mattered most. She grew up helping in her parents' shoe store in Crosby, where she developed her eye for style and her love of connecting with people—traits that stayed with her throughout her life.
On August 4, 1962, she married her high school sweetheart, Allen Draves. Together they shared many wonderful years raising their family and creating lasting memories.
Sandee worked for many years managing a shoe store at local malls, and later worked at Dayton's until retirement. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially their annual trips to the State Fair and many golfing adventures. Her true passion was golf—being on the course, traveling with friends to new destinations, and playing in women's leagues brought her tremendous joy.
Before her health challenges, Sandee was known for her impeccable style—always fashion-forward, beautifully put together, and effortlessly elegant. She took pride in looking her best and carried herself with a warmth and confidence that made her unforgettable.
After suffering a massive stroke in 2018, Sandee showed remarkable determination and perseverance, continuing to find joy in being active and surrounded by the people she loved.
She is survived by her son Brad (Jen) Draves; daughter Teri (Chris) Fredrick; grandson Ethan Fredrick and Zac Groschen; granddaughters Anika Fredrick, Ali Butchko and Aubrey Draves; brother David (Vicki) Johnson; and sister Judie (Bill) Fernandez.
She was preceded in death by her husband Al, her parents, her sister Valerie, and her grandson Austin Draves.
