Sandra Louise Nelson

1960 - 2025

Sandra Louise Nelson, 65, passed away on December 24, 2025, in Mequon, Wisconsin. Born on November 7, 1960, in Crow Wing, Minnesota, Sandra lived a life marked by deep faith, musical talent, and enduring love for her family.

Raised in the Roman Catholic tradition, Sandra held steadfast to her faith throughout her life. Her devotion to God and Christ remained central to her identity, especially in her later years. She found solace and strength in prayer and scripture, drawing comfort from her belief that she would one day be reunited with those she loved.

Sandra was exceptionally gifted in music. A natural pianist with a beautiful singing voice, she brought joy to many through her performances. Whether playing for others or simply filling her home with music, she expressed herself most deeply through melody and song. Her artistry was not limited to music—she was also an extraordinary chef who poured love into every dish she prepared. Cooking was one of the many ways she nurtured those around her.

She had a passion for antiquing and found beauty in the stories held by old objects. The ocean held a special place in her heart; its vastness and the healing presence of sea air brought her peace during difficult times.

Sandra's life was shaped by both joy and sorrow. She endured the profound loss of her daughter Amy Hudson—a grief that left an indelible mark on her spirit. Despite this immense pain, Sandra continued forward with quiet resilience, holding onto hope and faith as guiding lights.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Christina Louise Stover and her husband Alexander Stover; Heather Marie Hudson and her husband Joshua Taubel; and Michael Nelson. Her grandchildren—Rianne Spude, Logan Spude, Sullivan Diegel, Nora Stover, Oliver Diegel, Willow Stover, Finn Stover, and Jericho Diegel—were sources of great pride and affection.

Sandra also leaves behind her sisters Cynthia Herget & Patti Weller, sister-in-law Judy Socher; nieces Jennifer Socher, Kim Burrier, Melanie Herget and Joanie Gulden; nephews Tommy Herget & Mike Catania, former son-in-law Christopher Spude; loving ex-husband Emmet Nelson.

She now joins in eternal rest her beloved daughter Amy Hudson; parents Norman and Louise Donat; former husband John Hudson—the father of her children, brother Robert Socher; nephew David Socher; and brother-in-law George Herget.

A memorial mass for the dead was held at Lumen Christi Catholic Church in Mequon on December 27, 2025. A celebration of life and requiem mass will be held in the future.

Sandra has gone home to be with the Lord—held forever in His mercy and love. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
