Sandra Anne “Sandie” Rendall passed away peacefully at her home in Zephyrhills, Florida, on January 29, 2026. Born on July 21, 1940, in Ottumwa, Iowa, Sandie lived a full and vibrant life as a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Richard Rendall; her sons Scott (Sunny) Rendall and Eric Rendall, both of Howell, Michigan; her sister Jody Alu of Plantation, Florida; her grandson Michael Rendall of Brighton, Michigan; her granddaughter Jacquelyn (Justin) Streu of Whitmore Lake, Michigan; and her great-grandchildren August and Evelyn Streu.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Davenport; her father, William Bennett; and her stepbrother, William “Billy” Bennett.
Sandie was a lifelong learner with a resourceful and entrepreneurial spirit. Early in life, she mastered sewing and worked as a skilled seamstress. She later taught herself shorthand and became a trusted personal secretary to a prominent company executive. Her adventurous side led her to co-own a pet store, a bicycle shop, and a cleaning company—always eager to embrace new challenges and opportunities.
She found deep joy in nurturing pursuits: tending to her many plants and flowers, especially growing milkweed to support the local monarch butterfly population. A gifted writer, she captured stories and reflections with care. Known for her quick wit, funny tales, and ever-present, contagious smile, she brought warmth and laughter to everyone around her.
After retirement, Sandie’s warm, welcoming personality shone through in her many years of volunteer service as the “Welcome Lady” at Valleydale RO in Zephyrhills, where she personally greeted and made new community members feel right at home.
In her later years, she often shared fond memories of the wonderful adventures she and Richard enjoyed traveling across the United States and Canada in their RV, soaking in the beauty of the landscapes and creating lasting memories together.
A private family service will be held to celebrate Sandie’s life.
