Sandra "Sandy" (née Shkoler) Share, beloved wife, mother, Yaya, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Miami on September 12, 2025. She was 90 years old.
Born on January 30, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois, Sandy was the cherished daughter of Betty and George Shkoler and was the oldest sister to Donna and Michael, a role she embraced with love and loyalty.
Sandy married the love of her life, Norman Share, and together they shared more than 60 years of adventure, devotion, and love. They cultivated a beautiful life together, full of endless laughter and dear family and friends.
Sandy was the proud mother of three children — Leslie (Barbara), Gayle (Joel), and Ellen — and an adoring "Yaya" to seven grandchildren: Barrett (Mackenzie), Amy, Adam, Brian (Jamie), Sam, Talia (Charlie), and Gillian. She also adored her two great-grandchildren, Millie and August.
Known for her radiant personality, unwavering humor, and incomparable spunk, Sandy brought joy wherever she went. She and Norman traveled the world, hosted legendary Halloween parties, and spent many cherished summers and winters in Colorado skiing, exploring, and making memories with their children and grandchildren. She was forever feisty and full of life.
A lover of history and knowledge, Sandy dedicated time to interviewing Holocaust survivors so their stories would be memorialized and shared with future generations. Her empathy and commitment to preserving such important memories was a reflection of her belief in humanity as well as her generosity.
Sandy's greatest legacy is the family she built and the love she nurtured. She often reminded her grandchildren that humor and love were the foundation of a meaningful life and lasting relationship — the same values she and Norman lived by every day.
Our Yaya has returned to our Papa. She is, and always will be, deeply missed. May her memory be a blessing.
