Sandra J Talley

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Sandra J. Talley, aged 83, passed away peacefully in Pearland, Texas on December 19, 2025 surrounded by family. Sandra was born in Houston, Texas on November 5, 1942 to Floyd Emitt Jones, Jr. and Margie S. Jones. In the 1950s, she moved with her parents to Pasadena, Texas. Sandra graduated from Pasadena High School in 1960 and married her husband of 65 years, Donny L. Talley, also of Pasadena, Texas, in 1960 as well. Sandra raised two sons, Colin L. Talley and Christopher L. Talley, along with her husband Donny. She served as room mother for many years for her sons' classrooms and was active in the Parent Teacher Association. She also served as team mother to her sons' many sports teams. Sandra was also a proud Texas A&M University and University of Houston mom. In the 1970s she served as co-leader, with her husband Donny, of The Episcopal Young Churchmen at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Pasadena. She worked as a political consultant on many campaigns and worked as a congressional staffer in the 1970s and 1980s. In the 1990s she worked as a recruiter for a nuclear engineering employment firm. In retirement she enjoyed caring for and spending time with her grandsons Cade C. Talley and Blake W. Talley and attending their sporting and life events. Donny and Sandra traveled widely throughout their lives together and in retirement, including many adventurous international trips. They especially enjoyed traveling in the American southwest, mountain west, and Pacific coast with their recreational camper in the summers for many years during retirement. Sandra was an active member of the Bella Vita community of Pearland, Texas for the last twenty years and served on the Board of Directors of the community's homeowners association as well as participating in innumerable social events, activities, and celebrations in the community. Sandra was a deeply loved wife, mother, and grandmother, and friend who was an enduring and constant source of strength, support, and love for her family. She will be profoundly missed. She is survived by her sons Colin L. Talley of Atlanta, Georgia and Christopher L. Talley and his wife Judy S. Talley of Houston, Texas as well as her grandsons Cade C. Talley of Dallas, Texas, and Blake W. Talley of Houston, Texas along with her nephews, cousins, and godchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 2535 E. Broadway St., Pearland, TX 77581 at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
