Sandra Gayle Wood passed away on March 6, 2026, surrounded by friends and family. "Sandy" was born on July 8, 1943 to Jewel and WC Cummins in Somerset, KY. Sandy graduated from Danville High School in 1961, and continued her education at the University of Kentucky. Sandy loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was dedicated to the success of her family, and worked alongside her husband managing their home, and corporate social endeavors. On June 11, 1971 Sandy married the love of her life, Don Wood, and they remained committed to one another to the very end. Early in their marriage, Sandy realized that if she ever wanted to see her husband on the weekends, she'd have to learn how to play golf. They shared many fond memories on the golf course, especially when she got her first hole in one at Bluewater Bay Country Club. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, and younger brother, Jack. Survivors include her devoted husband, Don Wood, daughter Tracy (Hoffmeyer) Adams. and beloved grandchildren Liann Adams, Jillian White, and her husband Jesse. The funeral service will be held at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville, FL, with Dr. Herstel Carter officiating.
