Sarah Bennett Phillips, a beautiful, gentle woman, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and cherished friend, born in Cullman, AL, joined the Lord on March 6, 2026, in Orange Park, FL. Lovingly known as Nana, Sarah was a joyful spirit, always smiling and sharing her warmth with everyone around her.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Earl Phillips, and her son, Gaines. She is survived by her children - Sarah Clewett (Len), Kathy McCarthy (Kevin), William Allen Phillips (Dyann), Jessica Tierce (Barry), Wendy Leftwich (Scott) and her beloved grandchildren - Kyle Clewett, Claire Smith, Erica Clewett, Elizabeth Eichelberger, Caroline Leftwich, Bill Leftwich, and Lindsay Leftwich and six great-grandchildren, all who brought endless joy to her life and filled her days with laughter, love, and cherished moments. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, many nieces and nephews as well as Tracy Ferris, a life-long friend and devoted caregiver in her final months.
She deeply loved her husband, Bill, and together they created a home filled with love, laughter and wonderful memories. Sarah had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome. She loved entertaining, celebrating holidays and gathering everyone around the table. Her family brought her tremendous happiness throughout her life. Being Nana was one of her greatest joys, but above all, Sarah loved the Lord. Her faith guided her and shaped the kindness and generosity she showed to everyone. We miss her deeply, we thank her for the love she gave us, the examples she set for us, and memories we will carry forever in our hearts. We love her always. We will see her again.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be appreciated.
