Scott Davis, whose life was defined by enthusiasm, boundless energy, positivity, and passion, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 24.
Born William Scott Davis and always known as Scott, he grew up in Livingston, NJ as the eldest of four boys and brother to Tim, Doug, and Rob. From an early age, Scott developed a love of soccer and music, two passions that remained central throughout his life.
Scott attended the University of New Hampshire, where he studied business and played four years of varsity soccer, serving as team captain during his senior year. Most importantly, it was at UNH that Scott met Lori Nunziato. The two married and settled in Winchester, MA, where they raised their sons, Chris and Jeff. Scott was involved in his sons' lives, actively coaching and supporting their many activities, including soccer, school plays, track, tennis, and more.
Scott's love of soccer continued as he founded the Winchester "Over 30" league, in which he played for three decades. After knee injuries permanently sidelined him, Scott redirected his energy to cycling, riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) to raise money for cancer research. Having lost loved ones to cancer, Scott, true to his nature, decided to take action. Alongside his dear friend Doug Crossley and others, Scott rode 180 miles in the PMC event each summer for five years. Together, their five-man team has raised an extraordinary $790,000 for cancer research.
From 1996 until his retirement in 2022, Scott was a Founder and Vice President of WebbMason Marketing, a tech-enabled digital marketing and brand management services firm. He loved his work, building strong client relationships and partnering with friends to grow the company.
Scott loved music (especially rock and roll!) nearly as much as he loved soccer. A drummer in his youth, he later became legendary for his "air drumming" and "air guitar." He believed music brought people together and cherished attending concerts with friends. His favorite bands included Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, the Rolling Stones, the Who, and many lesser-known rock artists. There were few songs Scott didn't know word-for-word.
Scott will be remembered for the passion and energy he brought to every part of his life, a legacy that lives on through his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Lori (Nunziato); his sons, Chris Davis and his wife Tessa (Arbani), and Jeff Davis and his wife Peggy (Tio); and his beloved grandchildren, Gemma, Cora, and JJ, with another grandson expected in February. Scott adored his grandchildren and treasured every moment with them. He is also survived by his brothers Doug (Missy Nicholson) and Rob, his sister-in-law Mary Ann Patrick, and a loving extended family.
A Mass for Scott will be held at St. Eulalia's Church in Winchester, MA, on Friday, January 30, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Scott's memory to The Community Family in Medford, MA: https://www.communityfamily.org/make-a-donation/.
