It is with great sadness that we share the news that Scott Allen Dietrich, 51, passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2026, at his home in Evart, Michigan. Born on September 30, 1974, in Toledo, Ohio, Scott lived a life rooted in dedication to family and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Scott was a 1992 graduate of Whitmer High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force.
Throughout his adult life, Scott worked in roles that kept him close to nature—which is where he was happiest. He also took great pride in maintaining his yard and found joy in its beauty. Fishing was one of his greatest passions, whether aboard the family boat on Lake Erie or along a quiet riverbank with his wife, Christie.
An animal lover, Scott shared his home with many pets over the years. His household included cats, birds and chickens, but it was his beloved dogs, Honey, Daisy and Isabel who held a special place in his heart.
Scott is survived by his wife, Christie, children, Caden Dietrich and Kylie Smith, his parents, Dennis and Paula Dietrich, stepsister Rebecca Nelson, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edmund and Mary Wymyslo.
Final arrangements are being handled by Corey Funeral Home in Evart Michigan.
A memorial service will take place at a later date. [
Scott's memory will live on through those who knew and loved him. May his legacy bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
