"Scott Anthony Furr, 61, of Midland, NC, passed away on April 7, 2026. Born on September 18, 1964, Scott was a lifelong resident of Stanly County, North Carolina, and a member of NewLife Church in Locust, NC.
Scott graduated from West Stanly High School in 1982 and went on to establish his own business, SAF Grafix, where he was highly regarded for his expertise in screen printing and embroidery. Beyond his professional life, Scott was known for his quiet demeanor, deep faith in Christ, and profound love for his family.
Scott is survived by his wife of 34 years, Malena Drake Furr; his son and daughter-in-law, Spayne and Angelica Furr; his daughter and son-in-law, David and Brittan Edwards; his beloved grandchildren, Reina and Archer Furr; his parents, Larry and Linda Furr; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen and Laura Furr, and Craig and Tonya Furr.
Scott was a passionate musician who loved playing guitar and writing Christian music. Over the years, he was part of several Christian bands, including 2nd Generation, Messenger, and Latter Rain.
Scott was a car enthusiast who took great joy in admiring cars of all styles and loved attending local cruise-ins. His favorite ride was his 1967 Mustang.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family and traveling with his wife.
Scott touched many lives with his honesty and loving nature, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. His life was a testament to his values and the deep connections he fostered with his loved ones and community.
Over the past 8 1/2 years Scott battled colorectal cancer. Through every surgery and treatment, his faith remained strong. It was this journey that allowed him to share his testimony by helping others facing cancer.
Visitation will be held on April 19 at NewLife Church in Locust, NC, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a memorial service immediately following."
