Scott Robert Turnbull

Our family sadly announces that Scott Robert Turnbull, 75, passed away under gentle hospice care at St. David's Medical Center in Austin, Texas on April 7th, 2026. He was born February 5th, 1951, and grew up in the Forest Park suburb of Oklahoma City. His education, plus a serious interest in both baseball and golf, began at Pleasant Hill Elementary School and continued at Harding High School and Northeast High School in Oklahoma City.

Scott attended Oklahoma State University from 1969-1976. He received a degree in 1973 in Arts and Science and a degree in 1976 in Business Administration. Right out of school, he landed a job with Kerr McGee in Oklahoma City which sparked his lifetime career in the oil and gas business taking him to Dallas, Midland Permian Basin and finally Austin, Texas where he honed his scratch golf game at the University of Texas (UT) Golf Club in Steiner Ranch as one of its first members.

Surviving Scott is his oldest child Tiffany Aileen, her husband JT and his grandchildren James and Lucas. Son Tyler Nathan and wife Holly and his grandchildren Mason and Abigail Scott. The living siblings are Rick, Jane, Mark and Kay. His father was John R. Turnbull, architect deceased in 1999 at the age of 78, and Scott's mother was Aileen Wilkerson Turnbull, real estate broker deceased in 2021 at the age of 96.

Scott's life will be celebrated by his family in a private ceremony.
