Selin Alexandra Gureralp, 27, born on November 13, 1996, in New York City, New York, continues to shine as a light of love, creativity, and compassion.
Selin is an extraordinary woman, a gifted linguist, a talented photographer, and a compassionate soul. Fluent in four languages, she carries a boundless curiosity and a heartfelt passion for the world's cultures, reflected in her art and in the deep connections she continues to inspire.
Selin graduated from Fort Lee High School and was accepted into the Gallatin Program at New York University. She later attended the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU before moving to Paris, where she pursued her creative and academic dreams. In Paris, she earned her undergraduate degree from the Paris College of Arts and completed her Master's in French at the Sorbonne.
Selin is lovingly remembered by her mother, Molly Gonzalez, and father, Hur Gureralp; her sister, Bianca Gureralp; her half-brother, Cengiz Gureralp, his wife Damla, and her niece Lila; her aunts, Nesem Gureralp and Xiomara Gonzalez; her uncle, German Gonzalez; and her cherished dog, Whisper.
Selin believes and continues to remind us that love is the language of God and that kindness can change the world. Her light shines on through Selin's Whisper, the nonprofit created in her memory to carry forward her message of compassion, cultural connection, and hope. Her spirit lives in every act of kindness inspired by her name, whispering love into the world she so deeply cherishes.
