Sharon Braatelien

1938 - 2026

Sharon Darlene Braatelien, 87, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona. Born on May 13, 1938, in San Francisco, California, Sharon lived a life filled with love, creativity, and devotion.

Sharon dedicated her professional life to serving others. She retired after a remarkable 30-year career at Mountain Bell/AT&T and later contributed many years as a teacher's aide with the Glendale School District. Her work reflected her commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around her.

A devout Catholic, Sharon's faith was central to her life. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and found great comfort and inspiration in her favorite scripture passage, Numbers 6:24-27: "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." Her unwavering faith guided her actions and brought solace to those who knew her.

Sharon was an artist at heart. She loved writing poetry, painting, creating pottery, and taking long walks that allowed her to connect with nature. Butterflies held a special place in her heart, symbolizing beauty and transformation—qualities that mirrored her own spirit.

Above all else, Sharon cherished her family. She was the proud mother of Cyndy Faison (Dennis), Cheryl Clemens, Charles Clemens (Chris), and Tina Larsen (Richard). Her love extended deeply to her 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren each of whom she adored and celebrated every birthday. Sharon's warmth and kindness touched everyone she met; she had an extraordinary ability to bless others with her presence and care.

Sharon is predeceased by her husband James Braatelien, her parents, two sisters, and a brother. Though their loss was profound during her lifetime, she carried their memory with grace and strength.

The world has lost a truly beautiful soul in Sharon Braatelien. Her legacy of love, faith, creativity, and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May Sharon's memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.

A Funeral Mass will be held on April 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church 9728 W Palmeras Drive Sun City, AZ 85373
