Sharon Cannon Obituary
Sharon Elizabeth (Tuttle) Cannon, aged 61, died Monday, February 2, 2026, surrounded by her family at home after a long illness.

Sharon was born in Kingston, New York on July 22, 1964. Growing up in Modena, New York, she went on to attend SUNY Potsdam, obtaining a bachelors degree in mathematics. Sharon entered the actuarial field and worked for several companies during the course of her career, most recently with Travelers Insurance.

She married James Cannon III in 1997 and had two sons of whom she was immensely proud and cherished deeply. Being a mother was her greatest joy in life.

Sharon loved bird watching with her friends and family. She never missed the chance to see rare and unusual birds both near and far, though she always valued the natural beauty in more common, local birds. Sharon especially appreciated the hummingbirds and woodpeckers that would often visit her backyard feeders.

Her boundless creativity shined through in all her pursuits. Sharon was renowned for her impeccable tie-dying skills, crafting vibrant creations with her son Wyatt to gift to friends and family. Together, they sold hundreds of tie-dyed goods through their online store, where her work will live on in homes and wardrobes across the nation. She was also a stand-out talent in the kitchen, well-known for her hermit cookies, her much-acclaimed cinnamon buns, and many other confections and delicious meals.

Sharon's infectious laugh and brilliant smile made clear to all her zest for life. She was best characterized by her overwhelming kindness, generosity, and selflessness, as well as her deep and enduring love for those closest to her.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Carol (Stanick) Tuttle, and her brother, Kenneth Tuttle. She is survived by her husband James Cannon III, sons Wyatt and Owen Cannon, sister Laura (Tuttle) Pizzarelli, niece Summer Tuttle, mother-in-law Suzanne (Owen) Cannon, and many other beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

A gathering to celebrate Sharon's life will be held at the Windsor Locks Senior Center at 519 Spring Street on Saturday, February 21, from 1 to 4 pm. Please wear bright or tie-dye clothing (especially if it was made by Sharon!).
