It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Patricia Griffin Captain, who lost her brave and courageous battle with ovarian cancer on January 29, 2026, at 9:10 p.m.
Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose strength, grace, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald, and her cherished daughters, Autumn Raynette Kesterson (Jason) and Kristen Susan Knowles (Sean).
She was a proud and deeply loving grandmother to her grandsons: Jayon Kesterson, Austin Coley, Brandon Captain, Tyler Captain, and Sean Knowles, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Sharon is also survived by her many siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended family who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Her love, strength, and spirit will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
Sharon found her greatest joy in life's simple blessings. She loved traveling alongside her husband, feeling the peace of the beach, and spending quiet hours tending to the garden in her backyard. These were the moments that filled her heart and will forever be part of how she is remembered.
Her spirit is perhaps best captured in her own words:

No one is homeless.
No one is hungry.
All sick are healed.
No child is left an orphan.
All animals are treated with love.
People treat the planet with respect.
People care for each other."
