Sharon Lee Flack, born April 9, 1934, passed away peacefully in her home in El Dorado Hills on January 11, 2026, at 91 years of age.
Sharon was married for 71 years to Wayne Harry Flack Jr., the love of her life. They were wed on July 3, 1954, and remained devoted to each other until Wayne went home to be with the Lord on March 17, 2025.
Sharon is survived by her sister, Sally; her three children, Lucy, Larry, and Carrie; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She grew up on a farm in Puyallup, Washington, and later attended Mary Stone Beauty School in Seattle. She began her career in a Tacoma salon where she met Wayne, a soldier stationed at Fort Lewis. Shortly after marrying they moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to begin their life together.
Sharon came to know Jesus through a simple but life-changing moment: her young daughter returned home from a Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) Good News Club and said, "Mom... I just asked Jesus into my heart!" Not long after, Sharon also placed her faith in Christ, beginning a lifelong walk with Him. From that day forward, she became a joyful evangelist and a passionate lover of the Gospel.
In her own words: "I plan to keep serving the Lord as long as He gives me strength to do so. It has been amazing to see what God has done."
Sharon served in the San Francisco Bay Area for 31 years; 16 years at the Peninsula CEF office and 18 years as Director of the Golden Gate Chapter of CEF in the San Francisco Office. She braved 19th Avenue, the one-way streets and the hills of San Francisco to travel to the office. She would say.... "I figured out exactly when the lights would change and could time it perfectly to miss every red light!" Sharon then moved to El Dorado Hills where she taught in Good News Clubs and helped in raising up new teachers until clubs were formed in over 20 schools in the El Dorado area with 3 or 4 workers in each school!
Sharon wrote a song for CEF Good News Clubs entitled, "I'll Stand for God":
I'll stand for God though the mountains fall. He'll help me stand; I will stand up tall. When troubles come, He'll be with me through it all. I'll stand for God. I'll stand for God.
I'll stand for God though the mountains fall. He'll help me stand; I will stand up tall. When friends forsake me and I'm about to fall, I'll stand for God. I'll stand for God.
I'll stand for God though the mountains fall. He'll help me stand; I will stand up tall. Every day I will listen for His call. I'll stand for God, I'll stand for God, I'll stand for God.
Sharon survived non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in the small intestine and lived for almost 30 years with heart disease. Despite receiving 14 stents, pacemaker, defibrillator and having a heart capacity of around 25%, she continued to serve "like the Energizer Bunny," as her family lovingly described her. She remained active in ministry and served with Child Evangelism Fellowship until the very day she went home to be with Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:24 "He who calls you is faithful: He will surely do it."
Sharon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but we rejoice in knowing that she is now with Jesus — and that we will see her again someday.
The family invites you to join them for her Celebration of Life on March 16th in Fair Oaks at Mount Vernon Memorial Park. Details may be found here: https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/fair-oaks-ca/sharon-flack-12701970
