Sharon Alexander Ottsman, 83, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, in Bend, Oregon. Born on May 16, 1942, in Portland, Oregon, Sharon lived a vibrant and creative life filled with love, family, and countless cherished memories.
Sharon was a woman of boundless creativity and passion. Her hobbies reflected her artistic spirit and zest for life. She enjoyed traveling to new places, immersing herself in books, exploring genealogy, and expressing her artistic talents through diamond art, painting, and collecting elephants. In earlier years, she also delighted in sculpting and crafting soap and dolls. If it was creative, Sharon embraced it wholeheartedly. She also had a love for gaming and treasured spending time with her family, friends, and pets. Sharon's warmth extended beyond her immediate circle; she loved hosting holiday gatherings that brought people together in celebration.
Her dedication to community was evident through her active involvement with the American Legion in Chapala, Mexico. Sharon's loving nature touched everyone who knew her.
Sharon is survived by her son Gary Sawyer and his wife Kelly, her stepchildren Sonya Belcher, Keith Ottsman, Brad Ottsman and Elaina Dunham; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters Donna Robinson, Sandra Saling, Linda Behrent, and Patricia Behrent; her brother Keith Schroeder; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ed; her children Steve and Susan; and her brother Ron.
Sharon's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May the legacy of her creativity and love bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
