Shawn Peter Kelly

Shawn Peter Kelly of Naugatuck, CT was born February 21, 1956 and passed away November 22, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Shedd Kelly, son Nicklas (Rachel) Frankwich and grandchildren Aiden, Malikai and Kenna, Oak Harbor, WA, sister Nancy Kelly, Guilford, CT, step-children Judy (Michael) Hoffman, Derry, NH, Barbara Smith, Austin, TX, Charles Smith, Naugatuck, CT, brother-in-law Charles (Sharon) Shedd, Albuquerque, NM, step grandchildren Alexandra and Anthony Hoffman of NH, nine nieces and nephews in TN, MS, WA, CA and CT, fifteen great and four great-great nieces and nephews, aunt Phyllis Lago, Punta Gorda, Fl, numerous Kelly and Lago cousins in CT, FL, MT, and NY, and dear friends Jim and Marti Hopper, the entire congregation of Church of Christ-Danbury, and Tom Cavaliere and many other life-long friends from Bethany, CT, where he spent his childhood. He is predeceased by his parents John Samuel and Allene Lago Kelly, brothers Brian Dean and Robert Hartley Muratore Kelly.

Shawn was deeply devoted to his wife, Sue and the historic restoration of their Victorian home, built in 1892 by her great-grandfather. Shawn was an ingenious inventor and thoughtful problem solver. His craftsmanship can be found in custom furniture, multi-plane work benches, elaborate model train displays, and buildings throughout CT, NC, TX, and FL. He was a loyal friend and gentle soul who will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will take place at Church of Christ-Danbury, 90 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury, CT 06811 on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Snow date is the afternoon of Sunday, January 18, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope for Haiti.
