Shawn Michael Mahar, 53, of Dewey, Arizona, passed away on November 8, 2025, after a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on September 20, 1972, in Pontiac, Michigan, Shawn lived a life defined by resilience, deep love for his family, and an enduring spirit of generosity.

To those who knew him, Shawn was more than a husband or father—he was a steadfast presence whose strength and compassion left lasting impressions. Whether offering help without hesitation or simply being there when it mattered most, he gave of himself freely and wholeheartedly.

At a time of great personal challenge, Shawn met Ashley McDowell—the woman who would become his soul mate. Together they built a life rooted in mutual support and unwavering love. Their bond became the foundation upon which many joyful memories were made. Ashley and his family remain deeply proud of the man he was and the obstacles he overcame with grace and determination.

Shawn's heart found its rhythm in nature. He felt most alive riding quads across rugged trails or skimming across water in a boat surrounded by laughter. These outdoor adventures weren't just hobbies—they were sacred moments shared with his wife and daughters. In these times together under open skies, Shawn created memories that will echo for generations.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Ashley; daughters Mia Castillo, Emma Flores, and Triniti Mahar; mother Jenny Kesler; stepfather Francis Kesler; sisters Jennifer Firestone, Christina Kesler, and Kali Kesler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom he cherished deeply. His father, Neil Mahar, preceded him in death.

Even during his illness—a time that would test anyone's spirit—Shawn remained true to himself: brave, unyielding in hope, and fiercely devoted to those around him. His courage illuminated the path for others facing hardship and became an indelible part of his legacy.

May Shawn's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to shine through the lives he touched so deeply.
