Sheila Darlene Boone , age 74, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Born on July 16, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky, Sheila lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her work, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.
Sheila was a proud graduate of St. Jerome Catholic School, and Fairdale High School. Early in her marriage, she worked at Truckers World before embarking on a long and meaningful career at Hardin Memorial Hospital. Over the course of 31 years there, she served as both a phlebotomist and an EEG technician. Her commitment to excellence and compassionate care earned her recognition as Employee of the Month in February 2007—an honor that reflected her professionalism and the respect she garnered from colleagues and patients alike.
Beyond her professional life, Sheila found joy in many pursuits. She loved camping under open skies, expressing herself through art projects, exploring new places through travel, and attending concerts that filled her spirit with music. These passions enriched her life and created lasting memories for those who shared them with her.
Sheila's greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Boone; daughter Lisa Link and son-in-law Warren; son Matthew; granddaughter Alyssa Baker and husband Robert; grandson Jonathan Snellen; granddaughters Campbell and Hadley Boone; as well as seven great-grandchildren who brought light into her later years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Louise Crowe; brothers Jimmy, Dennis, and Kenny; and sister Rene Crowe. Their memories remained close to Sheila's heart throughout her life.
In honor of Sheila's memory and in support of causes dear to her heart, the family requests that any gifts be made to The Alzheimer's Society of Kentucky.
May Sheila Darlene Boone's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 9, 2026, from 04:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church 903 Fairdale Rd
