Sheila (Shelly) Wallent passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Born in Boston, Massachusetts to John (Pa) and Hilda (Ma) Wallent on December 5, 1957. Sheila was known for her gentle spirit, patience and unwavering dedication to nurturing others.
Sheila was a devoted special education teacher, leaving a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues in the San Francisco Bay area. Known for her creativity and meeting each student where they were, ensuring every young adult she worked with had the ability to learn and grow.
Both inside and outside the classroom Sheila found great joy in baking and cooking. Known for her cookies, breads and international food she made with her students and shared with family, friends and coworkers. She was the previous owner of Flour Power Bakery. When Joni was young you would find Sheila at Girl Scout and swim events. Sheila loved to travel and was a talented scrapbooker, capturing memories on each page.
Sheila is survived by her daughter Joni (Darryl), grandsons RJ and Maliki and her siblings Nancy and Michael, along with a wonderful bonus family. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Hilda Wallent.
The family will hold a private celebration of life.
