Sherry L. Fletcher

Sherry L. Fletcher (formerly Epperson), 62, of Stockbridge, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2026, surrounded by her children and close family.

Sherry was born on March 13, 1963, in Jackson, Michigan, to Bill and Joann Fletcher. She lived a life marked by deep love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She held a special, personal relationship with Jesus Christ that was reflected in the way she loved others. In her final days, her faith brought her great comfort and peace.

She is survived by her father, Bill Fletcher; her brother, Stephen (Juanita) Fletcher; her daughters, Rachelle (Chris) Shevrovich and Amy Jo (Sean) Kelley; her beloved grandsons, Eli and Ezra Shevrovich; her nephews, Joshua (Angel) Fletcher and Matthew (Charlotte) Fletcher; and her great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joann Fletcher; her grandparents, Walter and Mary Fletcher and Charles and Martha Flack; and several aunts and uncles.

Sherry had the biggest "mom heart." Being a mother was her life's work, and she did it with extraordinary love, gentleness, and devotion. Nothing brought her more joy than loving and caring for her children and grandsons. She became a second mother to many, including her daughters' lifelong friends Ashley Jones and Nick Schroeder, as well as her sons-in-law, Chris Shevrovich and Sean Kelley, whom she loved as her own. She always offered a listening ear, steady encouragement, and a place where others felt at home.

She had a true gift for growing things, with a remarkable green thumb that transformed her yard into a vibrant and welcoming space filled with carefully tended flowers and thriving plants. That same gift extended inside her home, where houseplants flourished under her care. She took quiet pride in watching what she planted take root and grow.

Summers were spent in the sunshine, where she taught her grandsons compassion, how to grow flowers and food, and how to slow down and appreciate life's simple moments.

When she wasn't enjoying the outdoors, she was often found with yarn in her lap, crocheting something for someone she loved. Her hands created countless hats and blankets for the tiniest babies in the NICU at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, a place that remained close to her heart throughout her life.

From the moment she became a mother, she began telling her girls she loved them "as big as the sky." Those words were woven into the fabric of their childhood, and she lovingly passed them on to her grandsons so they would grow up just as certain of her love.

A private memorial service will be held this summer. In her honor, those who crochet, knit, or quilt are encouraged to donate handmade hats or blankets to the NICU at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital or to a local hospital in need. Her love for her family, her quiet faith, and the care she showed to others will continue to live on in all who knew her.
