Sherry McClure

1965 - 2026

Sherry Lynn "Pumpkin" McClure, 60, of Bangor, Maine, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in the city she called home. Born on June 11, 1965, in Bangor, Sherry's life was deeply intertwined with the community that shaped her and that she cherished so dearly.

For 25 years, Sherry devoted herself to a career in home healthcare. Her work was more than just a profession—it was an expression of her boundless compassion and selflessness. She touched countless lives through her dedication and care, embodying a spirit of generosity that knew no bounds. Those who crossed paths with Sherry often remarked on her willingness to give freely of herself—a true reflection of her kind and giving nature.

Faith was a cornerstone of Sherry's life. Baptized at Wesleyan Baptist Church, by her spiritual leader Pastor Mark Soone. She found strength and solace in her spiritual journey. The church became not only a place of worship but also a source of deep connection for Sherry as she built meaningful relationships within her church family.

Family was the heartbeat of Sherry's world. She shared a loving bond with her devoted fiancé, Danny Gaskell; she is survived by her daughter, Crystal G. Murphy; Son-in-law, George "Freeman" Murphy. Grandsons's Jordan X. Murphy, Karter and Tyler.
Her role as "Nana" brought immense pride and joy to her days. Her children and grandsons were the light of her life—her unwavering love for them was evident to all who knew her.

Sherry is now reunited in eternal peace with her beloved son, Benjamin Fairfield McClure. Their unbreakable bond remains a source of comfort for those mourning her loss, knowing that Ben welcomed his mother into heaven with open arms. We didn't want to let you go, but we take comfort knowing he picked you up.

Sherry will be remembered as someone who poured love into every relationship she forged—be it family, friends, or members of her church community. Her warmth and smile radiated outward like sunlight on even the darkest days, leaving an indelible mark on all fortunate enough to know her.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Sherry's honor on April 4, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The River City Church located at 146 Center Street in Bangor. Services will be officiated by Pastor Mark Soone.

May the memory of Sherry bring comfort to those who loved her deeply. Though she will be profoundly missed, she will forever remain cherished in our hearts.
