Sherry Lynn Murray, lovingly known as "Sher-Sher" , "Sissy" and "Nana," passed away on January 7, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. A vibrant spirit with a heart full of love, Sherry was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.
Born on March 4, 1966, in Louisville, Kentucky, Sherry was the cherished daughter of Sandy Ekman and Earl Ekman (stepfather), and John (Dee) Allgeier Sr. and Judy Allgeier (stepmother). A loved sister of Jill Allgeier, John Allgeier Jr (Jessica) and Grant Allgeier (Jared). She graduated from Eastern High School in 1984 and went on to build a successful career as a fashion consultant and entrepreneur. Her passion for fashion was more than a profession, it was an expression of her creativity and zest for life. Known for her impeccable seasonal décor and eye for style, she brought beauty into every space she touched.
Sherry's greatest pride and joy came from her family. She shared a loving marriage with her husband Chris Murray and was the devoted mother of three sons: Justin Murray (Kacey), Clayton Murray (Nichole), and Landon Murray (Kristina). Her favorite role as "Nana" to her six grandchildren: Levi Murray, Graham Murray, Otto Murray, Vivian Murray, Miller Murray, and one precious baby girl. This was the most treasured chapter of her life. She adored each grandchild deeply and created countless memories filled with laughter, love, and Nana's special touch.
A woman of deep faith, Sherry was baptized Catholic and remained a lifelong Christian who believed wholeheartedly in Jesus Christ. Her strength came not only from her beliefs but also from an unwavering commitment to those she loved. She had an iron will that carried her through life's challenges with grace and determination. Loyal to those within her circle, she stood as both the rock of her family and the life of every gathering. Sherry found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Whether hosting celebrations or enjoying quiet moments surrounded by loved ones, she made every occasion feel special. Her home was always open, filled with laughter, delicious food, stylish décor and above all else, love.
She is remembered fondly by many friends and colleagues who were touched by her generous spirit and magnetic personality. Sherry had a gift for making people feel seen and valued; she gave freely of herself without hesitation or expectation.
Sherry joins in eternal rest her beloved grandparents: Sophie Allgeier, Clarence Allgeier, Francis Mutter, Arthur Mutter, and Robert Harrod.
Her legacy lives on through those who knew her best; her family who adored her beyond measure and through the countless lives she brightened with kindness, strength, humor, and style.
May Sherry Lynn Murray's memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 17th, 2026, at 02:00 PM and words spoken at 3pm, at The Lodge located at 925 Hobbs Lane Fisherville, KY 40023, where stories, laughter, and love will be shared — just as she would have wanted.
