SHERRY CROOK SMITH, 86, of Huntington Beach, passed away on March 21, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with frontotemporal dementia.
Sherry was born on January 19, 1940, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Camille and Wallace Crook. She lived her 86 years with grace, love, and an unwavering spirit.
Her life was defined by a deep devotion to family, faith, and travel. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi, affectionately known as “Ole Miss.” She met her husband, Lee, in Houston, and together they moved to California, where they married and raised two daughters.

She eventually went on to run her family’s business, Vicki Marsha Uniforms in Huntington Beach, alongside her brother, Buck. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church and found joy in music, gardening and travel.
Sherry is survived by her daughter, Sherolyn Duckworth, and her husband, Mike; her granddaughters, Madison and Jessica; and her daughter, Robin Westmoreland. She is also survived by her brother, Buck Crook, and his wife, Janet, along with her nephews, Ryan and AJ. Sherry was a loving wife, mother, grammy, sister-in-law, and aunt.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 1:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Sherry’s name to Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church (www.gspc.org).
