Weston, FL — Sherwin Jack Levy, born September 27, 1940, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, surrounded by his wife, Gail Perlmutter Levy, their four children, and his warrior chihuahua, Coco.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, to Abraham and Ruth Levy, Sherwin lived a life defined by an unwavering dedication to his family and a sharp, steady wit. He was a pillar of strength to all who knew him, always ready with a hug, a thoughtful word of advice, or a perfectly timed 'Levy' joke.
In his early career, Sherwin was a "bread man" for Wonder Bread/Hostess Cakes. His talent for the industry led to significant roles as a candy merchandiser for the Wakefern Food Corporation, a move that brought his family to New Jersey. In later years, Sherwin and his beloved Gail moved to Florida to be near their own parents. There, he built a second successful career with Walgreens, where he remained until his retirement in 2015.
Sherwin was a devoted father and is survived by his children: Karen Levy Farrell (Delaware), Robin Levy (Colorado), Jill Levy Corley (Sunrise, FL), and Matthew Levy (Georgia). He was a cherished brother to Robert Levy of Boynton Beach, FL. A proud grandfather and great-grandfather, Sherwin took immense joy in watching his family grow and succeed, maintaining deep connections across the miles. His many grandchildren traveled from across the country to spend precious time by his side during his final weeks.
He will be deeply missed by his community of friends and extended family at The Palace at Weston, who shared in his warmth and spirit.
A grave side memorial service will be held on March 23, 2026, for family and close friends.
