Sheryl Shaffer

Sheryl Shaffer passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Akron, Ohio, to Paul and Margaret Affolter. She grew up in Akron and was a proud graduate of Butchel High School. From a young age, she showed the kindness and dedication that would define her life.
She married her middle school sweetheart, Ron Shaffer, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love, loyalty, and friendship. Together they built a family filled with warmth and care. Sheryl devoted over 45 years of service to Children’s Hospital, where she was deeply respected and cherished by colleagues. She is survived by her beloved husband, Ron Shaffer; her daughter, Megan Shaffer; her brothers, Greg (Ivy) Affolter, and Jeff Affolter. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she brightened through her generosity, strength, and love.
