Shirley May Wensler
November 5, 1936 - September 29, 2025
Shirley May Wensler, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother "Tutu", departed this life on September 29, 2025, in San Ramon, California, at the age of 88.

Born on November 5, 1936, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Shirley was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Clementina Dias, and the cherished sister of Marion "Tina" Dias. At the age of sixteen, she and her family relocated to the mainland, settling in California. She graduated from San Lorenzo High School in 1955. About that same time, while working in her cousin's store in San Leandro, Shirley met the love of her life, Dale Arthur Wensler. They were married in 1957 and shared a beautiful life together until Dale's passing in 2000.

Shirley devoted more than fifty years to the Alameda County Court System, where she worked with diligence and pride. She initially served as a Court Clerk, retiring for the first time in 1986. However, her love for the courthouse and the people she worked with drew her back, and she continued for several more years as a Court Attendant. Her professionalism, warmth, and dedication earned her the respect and affection of her colleagues and the community she served.

Shirley's life was centered around her family, whom she cherished deeply. She is survived by her son Joseph Wensler and his wife Jody, her daughter Karen Arhontes and her husband Steven. She was the proud grandmother of Stephanie Anixter, Nicholas Wensler, Alexander Arhontes, and Alyssa Heanes, and the adoring "Tutu" to her nine great-grandchildren — Jack, Mackenzie, Ryan, Jake, Scarlett, Marilyn, Charlotte, Priscilla, and Violette.

Shirley will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family and friends, her generous spirit, and the warmth and grace she brought to every occasion. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to sing and dance, and filled every room with joy. Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
