Shirley Ann Kimling-Kline

Shirley passed peacefully in her home on December 1, 2025, surrounded by her children and loved ones.
Shirley was born in Texas City, Texas, on December 13, 1934, and raised in Galveston, where she was christened at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church and later graduated from Ball High School in 1953. In 1957, she met the love of her life, Leo Dale Kline, at a drive-in restaurant. They married on October 19, 1957, eventually settling in Del Valle, Texas, which became their forever home. Had 4 children, Margaret, Bryan, Sheryl and Sharon and spent 60 wonderful years together.
Shirley devoted her life to faith, family, and service. She accepted Christ and was baptized at Fairview Church of Christ and later rededicated her faith at Haynie Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired after 30 years with Southwestern Bell/AT&T and then spent 10 years working with special needs children at Del Valle ISD, a role that brought her great joy.
She loved volunteering at the Haynie Chapel food pantry, reading, tending to her flower gardens, and caring deeply for others.
Above all, Shirley cherished her family. God and her loved ones were the center of her life.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Dale Kline; her parents, Alfred and Hazel Kimling; and several beloved siblings and in-laws. She is survived by her children Margaret Zieger (Danny), Bryan Kline, Sheryl Kline, and Sharon Smith (Jay); six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her sister Josephine Houston; sister-in-law Donna Rogers; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
