Sidney M. Kaplan, in his 100th year, passed away peacefully of natural causes on February 27, 2026 . Loving husband to the late Cynthia Kaplan (nee Cooper). Kind and caring stepfather to Linda S. Kagan (David Pott) and Richard S. Kagan, proud step grandfather to Chloe Pott (Matthieu Delanoe) and Mason Pott (Chelsea Choi), and delighted great-step grandfather to Elliott and Lucille Delanoe. Fond uncle to Douglas, Aryeh, Bruce, and Susan Kaplan. Sidney lived a long and full life, always engaged with sports, current events, and movies. He was the oldest and last to survive of his siblings, Evelyn Gold, Gerson Kaplan, M.D., and Miriam Clarke. Sidney will be remembered and missed by those who knew him for his gentlemanly ways, wry sense of humor, and generosity. JUF Silver Circle member.
