Spencer Roberts died on November 29, 2025.
Spencer was a devoted husband to Stephanie, proud father to Abigail (and her wife Mae) and Ethan, big brother to Melissa (Rick) and Wendy (Chip), and a beloved coach and mentor to athletes around the world. Known for his infectious laugh, unwavering kindness, and ability to make everyone feel like family, Spencer touched countless lives through his work as a fitness coach and his genuine care for others.
Whether coaching endurance athletes, leading spin classes, or working at Smith Performance Center in Tucson, Spencer showed up for people with patience, encouragement, and belief in their potential. He made communities stronger simply by being part of them.
Spencer's friendships spanned decades, from childhood through his Army years to his coaching career. He welcomed people into his home and his life, creating family wherever he went. His love for Stephanie, his children, and his extended community was unmistakable to everyone who knew them.
A memorial service will be held for Spencer at Congregation Anshei Israel, (5550 E. Fifth Street, Tucson, AZ 85711) at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 22, 2025
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Spencer's honor to the American Civil Liberties Union or the Southern Poverty Law Center.
