Stacy Biddle Stockton Jr., a longtime resident of Ship Bottom, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home on December 11, 2025. He was 97 years old.

Born on September 30, 1928, in Pemberton, New Jersey, Stacy was raised in the close-knit borough where he would begin a lifetime of service and leadership. A proud graduate of Pemberton High School, he served as Class President for the Class of 1946 and was later honored with induction into the Pemberton Hall of Fame—a testament to his enduring impact on the community.

In 1959, Stacy co-founded Stockton and Dull Construction Company alongside Harry Dull. Through decades of hard work and dedication, the company became a respected name in the region. After retiring in 1990, Stacy and his beloved wife Anna—affectionately known as Jackie—relocated to Ship Bottom to enjoy their golden years by the sea.

Stacy’s commitment to public service spanned both communities he called home. In Pemberton, he was an active member of the Goodwill Fire Company and served as a town councilman and school board member. His leadership extended to civic organizations as well; he was a past president of the Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. A devoted Freemason for an extraordinary 75 years, Stacy exemplified the values of fraternity and service throughout his life. He also played a foundational role in establishing St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Upon moving to Ship Bottom, Stacy continued his legacy of civic involvement. He served as vice chair of the Land Use Board and took on a leadership role at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Brant Beach by heading its construction committee. Later in life, he became a dedicated member of Zion Lutheran Church in Barnegat Light.

Faith played a central role in Stacy’s life. As an active member of several Lutheran congregations over the years, he contributed not only his time but also his vision and energy to building strong spiritual communities.

One of Stacy’s greatest joys was spending time outdoors with family and friends. For over five decades, he cherished fishing trips with his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends—especially those memorable excursions to Canada. Boating also brought him great happiness and peace throughout his life.

Stacy is survived by his devoted wife of 75 years, Anna “Jackie” Stockton; four children: Stacy A. Stockton (Millee), Jaclyn Stockton-Sooy (Gary), Thomas Haines (Teresa), and Alice Stockton-Rossini (Giovanni); seven grandchildren: Thom John Sooy, Rachel Sooy, Peter Sooy, Giovanni Alexander Stockton-Rossini, Domenico Jacob Stockton-Rossini, William Stacy Stockton, and Andrew Thomas Haines Stockton; and six great-grandchildren: Sean Sooy, Clare Sooy, Sabrina Sooy, Elliot Rossini, Luciana Rossini, and Olive Rossini.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Stacy’s life on Saturday, December 20th at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church located at 1802 Central Ave in Barnegat Light, New Jersey. Visitation will begin at 10am and a Memorial Service will begin at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stacy’s name to the Ship Bottom Volunteer Fire Company, shipbottomfireco.com (In Memory of Stacy B. Stockton Jr.)
