Stanley (Stan) Gassion, born November 7, 1939, to the late Albert Sr., and Lue Birdia Gassion in Sardis, MS., transitioned peacefully on January 6, 2026 at the age of 86 into eternal life. Stan dedicated his life to Christ at an early age at Harmonia Baptist Church. Stan was preceded in death by his wife Arletha Gassion. Stan is survived by his daughter Stephanie (Roy) Fultz, son Keith (Keisha) Martin, daughter Sharon Martin, son Tony Hinds and step-daughter Kimberly Wilkerson. Grandchildren Isis, Anais, Emiah and Elijah Fultz; Keira, Keith Jr. and Krista Martin; and step-granddaughter Kymeisha Stokes. Great-grandchildren Alexander Jr., and Rose Folk; Keith III and Kenly Martin. Sisters Maggie McKinney, Gennie (James) Bradford, brothers John (Lovie) Gassion, George (Pamela) Gassion, Joe Gassion and a host of close family and friends!
Stan moved from Mississippi to Indiana in search of a better opportunity, later retiring from US Steel after 32 years of service. He was also a dedicated member of New Life Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a devoted Deacon and Male Chorus member. He leaves behind a loving church family whom he loved dearly!
Stan was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother and friend to many! He enjoyed spending time with family, laughing with friends, fishing, and singing with his brothers and the male chorus. He was gentle, humble, always willing to serve and just an all-around good and faithful servant! He will be missed dearly but his memories will last in us all!
