Zelig Stanley Greenspun died peacefully at home age 67 on February 13, 1985. Born in Philadelphia to devoted and proud parents Florence and Maurice Greenspun. Beloved husband of Gloria (Schallman) and adored father of Diane. Brother of Eugene. Stan served in the Merchant Marines in the Atlantic, Pacific, Philipine and Mediterranean war zones in World War II. He was a 32nd Degree Mason in Chicago, and instructor for the Life Underwriters Training Council for many years, and a founder, president, and member of the Executive Board of the Chicago Health Insurance Association. He was the author of many articles in the insurance magazines and guest speaker at insurance seminars and conventions across the US for many years. Stan was a talented guitarist and singer and, as a member of big bands and orchestras, entertained in hospitals, homes for the elderly and at charity functions. An antique car restorer and owner, he was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Gold Coast Thunderbird Club. A warm, generous, loving man, he will be forever deeply missed by his family, friends, many rescued dogs, and everyone charmed and cheered by his kindness, humor and smile. Burial in Beth El Memorial Gardens with Rabbi Samuel Z. Jaffee officiating. May his bravery, kindness and memory forever be a blessing.
