A loving and kind heart has gone home. Stanley “Jack” Lancaster was born on March 5, 1933, in Hastings, Nebraska, and passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2026. He was raised in Pomona, California, and later made his home in Montclair, California, where he and his wife lovingly raised their family. A devoted Catholic, Jack loved the Lord above all else and lived his faith daily through quiet acts of service and compassion.

Jack shared 65 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Dyan. Childhood sweethearts, they built a life grounded in faith, devotion, and unwavering love. Together they raised five children: Mark (Jama) Lancaster, Kathleen (Dirk) MacGregor, Jacklyn (Phil) Taylor, Kim (Keith) Miller, and their beloved son, Michael Bryan, who passed away at the tender age of two.

He was a proud and devoted grandfather to twelve grandchildren who absolutely adored him: Ashley, Michael, Hanna and Lauren Lancaster; Kendall and Jack MacGregor; Zachary (Abby), Garrett (Juliana), and Madilyn Taylor; David Sanchez, Douglas and Derek Miller. He was also blessed with two cherished great-granddaughters, Isabelle and Zoe Sanchez.

Jack was a true hero in every sense of the word. He honorably served in the United States Army before dedicating his professional life to serving others as a firefighter for the City of Claremont and the City of Los Angeles. He was an extraordinary father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, steady in character, generous in spirit, and endlessly compassionate.

Known for his servant’s heart, Jack never hesitated to help someone in need. He often carried an extra five dollars in his shirt pocket, ready to bless a stranger. He was famous for gifting See’s Candies as a simple but meaningful token of gratitude and for personally thanking law enforcement officers for their service. Whenever someone needed emergency aid, Jack responded without a second thought. Service to others was more than his actions; it defined who he was.

Though our hearts are broken and he will be missed beyond measure, we take comfort in knowing he is reunited in Heaven with his beloved Dyan, his precious son Michael, and the many family members and friends who went before him.

A celebration of life will take place on Monday, April 13, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, in Upland followed by burial at Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario.

In honor of Jack’s deep love for Maui, he wanted all of his attendees to wear Hawaiian attire as a joyful tribute to his aloha spirit and the beautiful life he lived.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. John Fagan and his staff for their exceptional care, as well as to the wonderful nurses of VNA Care in Rancho Cucamonga for their compassion and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony’s “Bridges to Homes”. Your contribution will help provide housing for homeless veterans and single mothers, a cause that was close to his heart.
