Myles, Star Paris, age 102, of Wayland, MA, passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Francis Myles for 58 years. Devoted mother of Star M. Zabriskie and her husband Charles, Barbara Myles, and Loring Myles. Proud grandmother of Phillip M. Zabriskie, Christopher W. Zabriskie and his wife Jessica, and Haven M. Wachtmeister. Proud great grandmother of William "Liam" Zabriskie. Star graduated from Beaver Country Day School in 1941 and Bennett College in 1943. Star and Tom married and moved to Wayland in 1955. Star was a dedicated volunteer with many charitable organizations, including the Wayland Garden Club, the Wayland Depot, the Wayland Historical Society, and FISH (Friends in Service Helping). Star and Tom were founding members of the Wayland Swim and Tennis Club in 1963. The entire family enjoyed spending summers at WS&TC participating in swim teams, tennis tournaments, and events for decades. Star enjoyed playing in the ladies' tennis group and playing mixed doubles with Tom. She also enjoyed watching professional tennis on TV as well as traveling to attend tournaments in person. Unfortunately, Star broke her hip when she was 80 years old and had to stop playing tennis even though she didn't want to. She continued to enjoy going to the pool through the 2020 season. Star played bridge and was an avid reader. She attended a book group regularly into her 90s. She was also talented at putting together jigsaw puzzles, which she enjoyed nearly until the day she died. Star enjoyed tending to her garden and feeding the song birds. She had a beautiful connection with animals especially cats, birds, bunnies, and even the chipmunks gravitated to her, especially when she fed them peanuts at her backyard patio. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
