On July 29, 1977, Stephen married Katherine (Rounds) Machel. Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Sharon and Stephanie "Dee-Dee" and his loving wife Katherine.
Stephen is survived by his son, Michael (and wife Jennifer) Machel; daughter, Renee Machel; 2 grandchildren: Mariah and Gavin; sisters Angela and Melanie along with many nieces and nephews.
