Stephen “Steve” Phillip Moseley was a loving son, brother, and friend. His deep desire to make a difference in this world did not end with his passing. He lives on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him. Steve passed away on March 20, 2026, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR, at the age of 69. His legacy will be honored by those who cherish him—by making a difference in this world or simply bringing a smile to someone’s face through the stories they share.
Steve was born on March 4, 1957, to Jimmie “Jim” Moseley and Patricia “Pat” (Schrader) Moseley of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and was the older brother to Scott Moseley. While attending school and even after his graduation in 1976 from Pine Bluff High School, Steve worked alongside his parents and grandparents at the family business, the Alex Moseley Furniture Company. Steve’s keen ability to engage a stranger in conversation was likely developed during this time, as he was quite proud of helping his family win sales contests with fantastic trips abroad as the reward.
Steve’s one true love in life was flying, and he was very good at it. Logging in several thousand hours throughout his flying career, Steve was a flight instructor, a freight pilot, a ferry pilot, and a charter pilot. His funny stories involving his flying career never failed to bring a smile to one’s face. In Steve’s own words, both before and after his flying career, he went on “to do everything in life that [he] wanted to do”, which ran the gamut from award-winning figure skating and scuba diving instructing to professional driving, customer service, and retail management.
Steve’s later years were spent caring for his loved ones, fine-tuning his already well-tuned cooking skills, and enjoying his time on the farm. Steve’s farm friends, the Great Dane Rett, and the Australian Shepherds Shep and Comet miss him greatly.
Steve is survived by his brother Scott Moseley and wife Melinda, and their children and grandchildren. Steve is also survived by his best friends TJ and Calvin Beasley. In lieu of flowers, his family and friends request that you honor Steve by making a donation to your nonprofit of choice and by smiling at those you love.
