Stephen "Steve" Paul Novak Jr, 72, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. He was born on May 29, 1953 in Glen Burnie, Maryland to the late Stephen Paul Novak Sr and Helen T. Novak.
Known affectionately as Pops, Steve always had room in his heart for his family. He is survived by his sons Stephen Novak (Kristy) and Christopher Novak (April), his step-daughter Jordan Crouse (Bob Johnson), his sister Carolyn Crowe, his beloved 13 grandchildren, and his dogs Belle and Bandit.
After a long career in sales and finance, Steve retired to pursue his love of history and sought a job at Gettysburg National Military Park, where he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and passion with others.
Steve always found the fun in life through his hobbies, adventures, and endless jokes. Many remember him as coach, as he instilled his love of soccer in his sons and others. He constantly kept himself active through running, hiking, biking, golf, and traveling with friends and family. Forever an avid sports fan, Steve was a huge supporter of the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles, and Washington Capitals. Recently he developed a love of photography, where he had a natural talent for capturing the beauty in his many adventures.
