Steven Zimmerman, 74, was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and welcomed into Heaven on November 17, 2025 in West Valley City, Utah. Steve lived a life marked by entrepreneurial spirit, deep faith, and a passion for adventure.

Throughout his life, Steve embraced a wide range of professional pursuits. He began his career managing movie theaters across several states—including Tennessee, Texas, California, and Utah—eventually becoming the owner of theaters in Heber City. His love for film and entertainment extended into other ventures as well; he owned and managed a photo processing business and three video stores during the height of their popularity. In addition to his work in entertainment and media, Steve was also an accomplished entrepreneur in real estate. Holding a real estate license, he owned five homes in Utah that he personally updated or renovated before renting or leasing them out. His hands-on approach reflected both his business acumen and his dedication to creating welcoming spaces for others.

Steve's adventurous spirit took him far beyond the borders of Utah. A devoted world traveler, he explored countries across North and South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Antarctica, and numerous island nations. His journeys were not just about seeing new places but about experiencing the richness of cultures around the globe. He eventually settled in Costa Rica with a mountain farm where he lived, gardened, built tilapia ponds and explored beekeeping in his desire to be self-sufficient.

Faith played a central role in Steve's life. A born-again Christian who believed in the Holy Trinity—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as one eternal God—he was an active member of Calvary Chapel of Salt Lake City, Utah. His beliefs guided him through life's many chapters and were a source of strength and purpose.

Steve cherished his family deeply and made many friends throughout his life. He is remembered with love by his sister Kathy (Zimmerman) Walter; brother-in-law Denis Walter; godsons Kenneth and Drago; as well as many cousins and dear friends who were touched by his generosity and warmth. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Valda Zimmerman.

A man of many talents and boundless curiosity, Steve lived fully—whether through building businesses from the ground up or exploring distant corners of the world. His legacy is one of resilience, faith, and heartfelt connection. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

A Memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel of Salt Lake City at a date yet to be determined.
