Steven John Abercrombie

Steve Abercrombie passed away on April 13, 2026, after a courageous year-long battle with AML.

A 1964 graduate of Lincoln High School, Steve went on to complete his higher education in finance and banking, building a long and successful career in the financial sector. His work took him across the United States and around the world, including Canada, England, and Australia. After retiring, Steve and his wife of 58 years, Andrea, made their home on Whidbey Island, where he enjoyed his well-earned retirement golfing, walking his dog along Cannon Beach and Mutiny Bay, and spending meaningful time with friends, family, and especially his beloved grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his wife, Andrea; daughter and son-in-law, Brei and Eric Haywood; grandchildren, Talen and Emerson; son-in-law, Lee Carswell and his wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Rita and Sorin; and sister, Cathy Moray. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeni. Steve throughly enjoyed conversing with everyone he met and appreciated the beauty of life. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations made to Cancer Research at Seattle Children's Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held on June 28, 2026 at 1 pm at Useless Bay Golf and Country Club.
