Steven Blutter was a true humanist — a man of intellect, imagination, and heart. He was the beloved son of Joan and Mel, devoted brother to Janet, cherished brother-in-law to Larry, and the most loving, engaged uncle to Michael and Jackie (Yuda). He was also a loyal friend to many and someone whose presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Steven was disciplined, curious, and deeply thoughtful, with a brilliant and searching mind. He brought both rigor and playfulness to life — intellectually sharp, creatively alive, and unmistakably original. He loved the arts, photography, fitness, ideas, and exploration. He saw the world with both precision and wonder, capturing it through his lens and through his insight into people and human nature.
He carried himself with strength and vitality, and those who knew him remember his energy, his quirkiness, his warmth, and his joie de vivre. He was adventurous in spirit, generous in heart, and fully engaged with life.
Alzheimer's disease rapidly took from him many of the qualities that defined him, a loss deeply felt by those who loved him. After a three-year journey with this difficult illness, Steven passed peacefully on February 1, 2026.
We are profoundly grateful to have had him in our lives. His spirit, his mind, his photography and his love remain with us. May he rest in peace. He is deeply loved and will be deeply missed. A celebration of Steven's life will take place in the spring. Donations in his memory may be made to the
Alzheimer's Association (https://
