Steven Lee Koch, 69 yrs. old. Born July 24, 1956, died Sunday,
March 15, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill (Betty Jean) Koch and Joyce (Roy) Offutt; and both brothers, Larry Koch and Rick Koch. He is survived by loving nieces and nephews, David Koch (Nicole), Angela Lanning, Drew Koch (Julie), Allison Garrett (Elgin), three great nieces Madison Koch, Amanda and Ashleigh Lanning and two great nephews, Jared Koch and Sterling Garrett; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Koch and Becky Koch.
His last days were filled with loving visits from family, friends and many neighbors from the ‘hood, and his beloved dog Biscuit. Thank you, Kenny Hall for making that possible!
Steve was well cared for at Norton Audubon Hospital. Doting nurses loved his personality when it shined, and he loved all the attention!
Over the years, Steve worked at Overnight Trucking, Cruse Trucking, Graft Pelle Co. and Speedway (“Steveway” as it was later referred to).
“Steve never met a stranger, he was a very likeable fellow”, says David Nielsen, his lifelong friend since second grade.
He was an enthusiastic UofL Cardinals fan, who never missed a game - whether in person or on the big screen. Steve enjoyed being on the water in his boat with rod in hand! He was an avid fisherman who loved to catch muskies.
In his later years, Steve spent a lot of time with his neighbor, Kenny, watching many types of sports on TV and multiple other devices in the “Dixon Lounge”; enjoying their fav beer, PBR.
In the Koch Family, no news was good news. I’m here to tell you that the good news is he knew the love of family, friends & neighbors in his dying days. And he was overwhelmed. God bless you, Steve.
Date and Place for Celebration of Life to be determined at a later date.
To honor Steve’s memory, the family encourages donations to The Kentucky Humane Society, or a charity of your choosing.
