Steven Eugene Shaver

Steven Eugene Shaver, 78, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025 after a short and unexpected illness. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sue Engdahl, his ex-wife Angie Shaver, Stepdaughter Tami Jacobsen and husband Terry Jacobsen and Stepson Chris Shaver and his nephew Kevin Grimm. His step-grandchildren Blake and Ninna Jacobsen and Landon Shaver.

Steve was born in Everett, WA to Albert and Glee Shaver. He grew up in Mukilteo, WA and often commented on his happy childhood there. At age 20, he joined the Geodesic Survey, later names NOAA and was at sea for 6 months traveling from Nome, AK to the South Pacific.

Steve earned a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and designed amazing landscapes for many years. His hobbies included creating beautiful bonsais, water fountains, gardening, kayaking, hiking, biking, tennis and traveling with his wife. Steve also loved studying history, often commenting that we need to study the past to prevent repeated mistakes. He also loved watching old science fiction films, especially King Kong!

Steve was well known for his "easy-going" nature, positive attitude, genuine kindness and smart aleck sense of humor. When asked how he was doing, he often responded with "better now" which always brought a smile from the recipient.

Steve was preceded in death by both his parents and sister TerryAnn Grimm. He will be loved and missed so very much!
