1961 - 2026

STEVEN ROSS BRODY of Hollywood Florida, born January 20, 1961, passed away last week.
Steven’s cousins remember him as a big hearted family man with a love of family pictures that he never missed an opportunity to share. His dear friend Stephanie remembers her “Brody Bear” as a cat lover who cared for people and pets with passion and tenderness. Steven was an expert hugger who made everyone know his love and care. There are many love filled memories of him on Narragansett Beach in Rhode Island. He will forever be in their hearts and will be sorely missed.
Steven was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and as a child developed a love for surfing at Narragansett Beach. At the age of 12, his family moved to Windsor, Connecticut, where he would spend his formative years.
Steven graduated from Windsor High School, where he was a varsity defenseman on the ice hockey team, reflecting both his athleticism and competitive spirit.
After high school, Steven moved to Hollywood, Florida, where he worked along the coastline, helping countless elderly residents at various properties. He was deeply appreciated by those he served and was on a first-name basis with hundreds of clients, a testament to his kindness, reliability, and personal connections he formed.
Steven enjoyed spending time with his cousins, including Karen Kanefsky of Marlborough, Massachusetts; Lori Adler of Burriville, Rhode Island; and especially David Geller of Logan, Utah, with whom he shared a close bond. He also leaves behind his Aunt Silvia and Uncle Phillip (“Skippy”) Geller (Florida), as well as his Aunt Sandy (Florida).
Steven is predeceased by his loving girlfriend of many years Karen A Puzo (Florida), by his father, Melvin Brody (Florida), by his uncle Lawrence Geller, his aunt Nita Geller and his mother, Esther Joan Weitzman (Geller).
He is survived by Stephanie Hely, his siblings: Donna Sue Brody of South Windsor, Connecticut; Neil A. Alan of San Diego, California; and his half-brother, Bruce Adam Weitzman of New Britain, Connecticut and many nieces and nephews.
Steven will be cremated and in a private service his ashes will be broadcast to the surf where he felt most at home and which brought him great joy throughout his life.
May he rest in peace in green pastures. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow him and he will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
